Jersey Joe`s Hoagies in San Carlos

I am from Philly and grew up devouring cheese steaks. I give this place props on the meat quality and flavor. Room for improvement on the rolls IMO, but still a very tasty overall.

Visted this spot twice in the last two months and I really enjoyed their cheesesteaks. Their pepper cheesesteak can be a little too hot (I love very spicy food - 4 or 5 star spicy level at Asian restaurants). My favorite is their mushroom cheesesteak.

Edited review: being a NJ native, this place WAS as legit as it gets. It's drifting away from that, rather quickly. It's average, not awesome. Hopefully, with real New Jersey guidance, this place can again become our favorite. We're gonna look for a new place in the meantime. :(

Having spent 5 years living in the Philly area, I have certain expectations for a cheese steak. Jersey Joe's meets them very well. Their fries are also very good; crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. A very nice restaurant space, with a good Philly vibe and very clean with friendly efficient staff.

This use to be my go-to spot for Cheese Steak Sandwiches. I had not been back since new owners took over but heard this happened and decided to check it out finally. The first bite I could tell right away it didn't taste the same and was shocked. The steak & bread tasted different in my opinion. I was also shocked they cut two chicken tenders into 4 pieces and called it 4 chicken tenders, I have never seen an establishment do this. Will not go out of my way again to eat here.

Decent subs but WOW the price!!!!! 4 subs 2 fries 1 soda 3 waters = $70.

I love love love this place. Every time I go the the Bay Area I go out of my way to go here. This place is what I judge every cheese steak on. I have bought many people to this place to try and get similar reactions. Stop reading this and go there now!

Great place. I'm not cheesesteak with expert, but this is one of my favorite places to grab a cheesesteak in the area. I order a mushroom cheesesteak with filled onions and eat it with their hot sauce and BBQ sauce. If I feel like splurging I add bacon to it.

I was a regular here till today. I usually get a decent philly steak sandwich and onion rings with it. The new cashier taking my order was being trained by another cashier but he still got my order wrong. I pointed it out to the cashier. When I got my order I noticed a half serving of onion rings. when I asked about it I was told I complain about EVERYTHING! Lately their sandwich's haven't been up to par. Maybe the new management, or new employees. I know of other places I can get a cheese steak sandwich.

Very good Cheesesteak. Change of ownership about a year ago lowered the quality of the bread, but still good. Not 5 stars anymore, though.

I've gotten takeout from this place repeatedly during COVID-19. It's amazing! Delicious cheese steak sandwiches, generous portions and their sides are terrific! Fast service.

I love this place the food is always cooked fresh. It's not sitting under a heat lamp.

Most cheese steak sandwich tends to be very greasy and salty. Jersey Joe's was not, kind of light actually, maybe even a bit on the dry side. I liked it, but would ask for extra mushrooms and grilled onions next time to add more flavors. Their fries and onion rings were good too.

Love this place for a cheesesteak. However, when I order curbside pickup/no contact pickup, I shouldn't have to go into the store. I waited for 10 minutes after the estimated time for pickup in my car until I went into the store and there my order was sitting on the shelf. It's not a problem to go into the store but don't offer curbside pickup if it's not curbside. Food was soggy as a result. Just do normal pickup.

OMG! Love love love their food! But my all time favorite is Monster Cheese steak. And their Jersey Joe's cheese steak fries!!!!Yes, did you think I wasn't going to have my chocolate milkshake?It's a "treat" to come here, or when a friend is in town. Not so much because we can't afford it; the opposite actually. Very reasonable I might add! It's the calories that we can't afford all to often! But hey, when you treat yourself to a Philly (once in a while), please don't refer to the calories as your enemy, just for that day! Even those get a day off once a month!Today we are feasting on Great tasting, greasy American comfort, soul, jacuzzi, vacation in the back yard, or at the neighbors backyard, loosen your belt buckles Happy Happy food! And who knows what tomorrow brings! Lick your fingers folks!!!! Always super fresh!!!

Great cheese steaks in the Bay area. I try to visit when I'm in town. There was a recent menu change as they no longer serve burgers but the food still tastes as good.

This is truly the best place to have a cheese steak on the Pacific side of the country. I tried many others and none comes close. Make sure to order extra cheese and you'll be in paradise :) You'll wonder however why the four stars then. Well - it is meant as an encouragement to the business owners - it could be so much better. You have raised the prices substantially - now a steak and a beer is close to 25$. But the decor of the place is old, the ceiling is disgusting, the whole place hasn't had an upgrade in decades and it's not very clean. It seems nobody cares about that.

Loved the Philly Cheese and Garlic Fries...This place gets super busy at lunch time, as this place is no secret. The Garlic Fries are the real deal and they give you more than one person can or wants to eat. I ordered a small and was only able to eat half. Will I go back? Yes and cant wait to get some more...FIVE STARS all the way!!!

Where do I begin!!! Haha this place is top 3 sandwich shops. The meats,cheeses, the variety of food to choose from. You get every penny worth at this place!!

I’m New York and have been in Philly Their sandwiches are solid just little more seasoning on the meat other then that good spot plus the customer service is on top

This place was good!! Everything was fresh! Due to Covid 19 it was no eating inside but we were able to eat outside at the tables. Great drink selections. It got 4 stars because they messed up on our order. They wanted us to pay for their mistakes and that wasn't gonna happen!!!! They did end up fixing it free of charge. Unlimited soft drinks. The price is a little high but worth it. 3 meals $55+change.

Now this is a cheesesteak! Haven't been in a while and it didn't let me down. Only 4 stars bc I didnt get the amt of spice I wanted. Needed some crystal or tobasco or some more jalapeños. Will definitely be back sooner.

Cheesesteaks are solidly good. They don't skimp on the meat. Personally, I like the chicken better than the beef. I do swap the American cheese for provolone. If the restaurant itself was more comfortable (temperature and ambiance), I might even give this place another star.

Best cheesesteak and fries I have had in bay area, I have tried many st sport bars and restaurants. This one filled me up and was made to order.

I've been going to this place for years I loved this place but Today was my last day. The NEW MANAGEMENT COMPLETELY FAILED. This place used to be so good and affordable, now they raised there prices $2 more and use different quality meats. I asked if thy could add mayo to my bread as I always do, They said NO! they gave me a side of it for me to do it myself, I asked for ranch they said we charge .75 per cup. (Some customer service) Old management gave it for FREE! Extremely sad for this new management to destroy such a classic place, they original cooks are still there I'm sure they feel the same way. Highly recommended NOT coming here!

Waited 45 min for a bland sandwich, cold fries asked for ketchup and got hot sauce. Not worth the time and effort.

The cheese steak was average. It was pretty greasy which is to be expected. The meat could of been more tender. The place is pretty busy. This was a bit more expensive and less food than I'm used to in college. The works did not have anything that made it special compared to other cheesesteaks I've had. It was pretty quick service for a quick bit.

This is by far the best cheese steak I've had in the Bay Area. You won't be disappointed

Great place to eat and socialize with family and friends. They have many sports to watch on multiple TVs around the restaurant. I have been going here for years and always had a good experience when dining in, or picking up take out.

Love the regular cheese steak with hot peppers and hot sauce. Yum!

We drive from Oakland just to go to Jersey Joe's. If you want the best Philly Cheesesteak you need to have a Jersey Joe's.

Great cheesesteaks and mozzarella sticks but wth happened to the chicken wings. The menu online still states chicken wings.
